Italian school oil on canvas bust-length, three-quarters pose painting of a woman who turns to face the viewer before a dark background. A simple, gold cross pendant hangs from a red ribbon tied around her neck, and she wears a laurel chaplet and blue ribbons in her long, blond hair, with an additional red ribbon at back, along with blue ribbon earrings. She raises her right hand holding two pink flowers and wears a dark green bodice with slashed sleeves. Housed in a modern giltwood frame with carved polychrome pomegranate and leaf decoration. Canvas: 12 in. H x 10 1/2 in. W. Sight: 11 1/4 in. H x 9 3/4 in. W. Frame: 21 1/2 in. H x 20 in. W. Painting: 18th century or earlier. Frame: 19th century or later.

CONDITION:
Canvas with older relining, likely also restretched but on older stetcher, with mortise and tenon joints. With frame abrasions and scattered areas of retouch from multiple restoration campaigns, especially along lower edge and to face, primarily to cheek and side of nose and outside of more detailed areas. See U/V photography. Fine craquelure throughout. Frame with negligible abrasions to corners.
