Bechum (Jackson Columbus "Jack" Becham, Crawford County, Georgia ) stoneware jug, squatty ovoid form with two applied handles and runny olive alkaline glaze, one handle stamped "CJB". 14-1/2" H. Late 19th Century. Note: A history of the Becham family pottery can be found on pages 144 – 146 of the book "Brothers in Clay" by John A. Burrison, University of Georgia Press, 1983. Condition: Two chips to rim of mouth. Shallow chip to one handle. Overall firing imperfections to glaze.
