Northern European, likely Baltic, mahogany or walnut bibliotheque or bookcase with brass inlay. The top is crested with a broken arch pediment centered with a brass urn and flanked with pineapple finials, over a paneled frieze. The case features two bevel-glazed doors finished at the base with raised panels outlined in brass. The doors are flanked with Ionic inlaid pilasters and the interior is fitted with wooden shelves. Brass inlaid plinth base and toupie feet. 80" H x 36 1/2" W x13 1/2" D. 19th century.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Pia Stratton, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Very good condition with some small chipping to the wood commensurate with age and use. The piece can be disassembled by removing 4 bolts.
