Lot 140: Louis Icart Signed Etching, Bubbles

Louis Justin Laurent Icart (French, 1888-1950) etching with hand coloring, “Bubbles.” A seated woman in a long dress lightly touches a bubble with a wand, while a cat is poised in anticipation. Signed lower right, with artist’s windmill blindstamp and printed text to upper left margin that reads: “Copyright 1925 by les Graveurs Modernes 194 rue de Rivoli Paris.” Housed under glass in a silver gilt frame with ivory oval mat. Sight: 19 in. H x 14 1/4 in W. Framed: 29 n. H x 23 in. W. 1925.

PROVENANCE: The estate of Robert Estrin, Nashville, TN.

CONDITION: Overall very good condition, light toning to sheet. Not examined outside of frame.
