Two Daniel Cribbs Alabama pottery forms. 1st item: Daniel Cribbs (Tuscaloosa, Alabama, 18001892) double handled stoneware jug with thin light colored slip beneath the glaze. Stamped below the neck "Daniel Cribbs, Tuscaloosa" with incised "5", denoting gallon capacity. 18" H. 2nd item: Unmarked, salt glazed stoneware handled preserving jar with lid, attributed to Daniel Cribbs. Note the "triangular" tapering of the handle of this jar, and glaze, are very similar to the marked double handled jug. Both forms were found at the same location. 10 1/2? H. 19th century. CONDITION: 1st item: Some chipping to base edge, otherwise overall very good condition. 2nd item: Overall very good condition.
