6 coin silver tablespoons and 6 sterling teaspoons, all with Fiddle Tipt pattern handles and incuse marks for retailer B.H. Steif (Tennessee Silversmiths by Benjamin H. Caldwell, Jr. lists Bruno Hugo Steif as an apprentice watchmaker working for George Washington Donigan in Nashville, 1860, and by 1866 on his own as a jeweler). Teaspoons have additional mark STERLING and monogram GAH. Tablespoons have additional mark for Whiting and the word COIN and are monogrammed JKD. All Circa 1866-1870. 12.2 oz troy total weight. Provenance: the collection of John Montague, Memphis, Tenn. Condition: Very good condition.
