A near pair of two (2) tall Chinese Nanking or Canton porcelain cider jugs or pitchers, each having underglaze blue and white decoration of pagodas overlooking boats at sea and a spearhead border, and asparagus handles. 1 pitcher has the original cover with foo dog finial. 9 3/8 in. H and 9 in. H. 19th century.
PROVENANCE: Collection of Christine Heineman, Garden City New York, by descent to present consignor.
CONDITION: 1 pitcher lacking lid. Each pitcher has a hairline to the spout. 1st pitcher also has a spider form hairline near handle terminus. 2nd pitcher: multiple spider form hairlines, including near handle terminus on each lower sides of handle, underside, and to four spots around widest part of body.
