Sterling Boyd Strauser (American/Pennsylvania, 1907-1995) oil on board painting of a pink dogwood branch. Signed upper left “Strauser” and dated 1988; additionally signed and dated lower left. Note: while the painting is currently wired to hang vertically, it also presents in such a way that it could be hung horizontally (hence the double signature). Custom parcel gilt and painted wood frame with carved, undulating edges, stamped “Handcrafted by Lyzon Art Gallery” en verso. Sight: 36 in. H x 8 in. W. Frame: 41 in. H x 13 in. W.
PROVENANCE: Private Middle Tennessee Collection.
CONDITION: Excellent condition other than a few small light spatter spots to the upper right area of the white portion of the frame.
