English Regency silver mounted and inlaid tortoise shell tea caddy with double compartments. Slightly domed sarcophagus form hinged top having line inlay and a central inset silver medallion engraved with star and bar crest, over a bombe form body with silver escutcheon and line inlaid edges, quarter round molded base and four wooden ball feet. Interior fitted with two compartments having lids with bone knobs. Silver is not hallmarked. 6" H x 7" W x 4 3/4" D. Early 19th century.
CONDITION: Overall good condition with expected age resulting in minor losses and cracking to tortoise shell on side panels and right side back panel. Veneer patches at hinges and area of replaced line inlay to lid edge (see area above one hinge).
