East Tennessee biscuit table, yellow pine frame with inset Tennessee marble slab, stretcher base flush with the outside edge of leg facings, turned feet. Underside of marble slab having rough surface with deep channel grooves. Purchased by Mrs. William Searle, Jr. in 1930 from a Knoxville estate. 31" H x 26 3/4" W x 26 3/4". Mid 19th century, Tennessee. Condition: Remnants of holes on one side of table indicate a lid for the form at one time, additional contemporary brackets to underside of marble for additional support of weight, top of marble and surrounding wood surface with dirt and grime.
