Large East Tennessee stoneware jug stamped twice (base and midsection) ìJ. Mort,î Mort pottery family of Jefferson County, TN. Triple sine wave incising and salt glaze with reddish hue, probably indicating high iron content. Overall very goodcondition, slight chip to rim. 14 1/4? H. 19th century. Note – this is the only example of a stamped Jefferson County, TN Mort pottery form.
