Finely carved Asian carved figure of a man sitting on a log, lighting his pipe. 5"H x 5"W. Chinese or Japanese, circa 1900. Provenance: purchased by George Mitchell (co-owner of Mitchell's Candy Store, Nashville) during the course of several trips to China and Japan in the late 19th-early 20th century. Mitchell estate. Condition: Some fine age cracks to log and subject's head; possibly missing an element originally held in his hand, missing base.
