George III tantalus set in mahogany fitted case, inlaid with brass and lined with blue baize. Lid lifts to reveal four paneled cut glass decanters, each 8″ H and likely original, with molded spouts and faceted carved stoppers, and one blown glass goblet, 3 1/2″ H. Case has two brass side handles, brass inlay at lowermost edge, and brass shield shaped escutcheon. Retains key. Case 8 3/4″ H x 10 1/4″ W x 8″ D. English, late 18th to early 19th century. CONDITION: A couple of tiny scattered flakes to decanters, but overall excellent condition. 2 goblets missing. Case with minor wear and veneer chip to rear, some replaced veneer at bottom edge at sides and rear, some areas of missing brass inlay along lowermost edge including across entire back. Case does not close easily.
