French Empire figural gilt bronze mantle clock. Gilt bronze figural Grecian winged female figure, seated with a butterfly resting on one shoulder, holding up part of her dress. Circular gilt Roman numeral dial with hour and minute hands, having a naturalistic rocaille surround atop a rectangular plinth base, with applied plaque to the front and scrolling bracket feet. Works marked G. B. and "6." 18 1/2" H x 12 3/8" W x 4 1/2" D. 19th century.
PROVENANCE: Deaccessioned by the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts Foundation to benefit the acquisitions fund.
CONDITION: Overall good condition, former museum accession number painted en verso. Clock not tested for functionality. Possibly regilded. Works appear to be complete, need to be cleaned.
