Four D. I. Wells coin silver teaspoons, fiddle pattern, various script monograms, faintly legible. 5-5/8" L. 2.29 oz troy. Daniel Wells was born in South Carolina about 1810. By 1833 he had moved to Bolivar, where he and J. K. Wells advertised their services as silversmiths and clock and watch repairers. (courtesy Tennessee Silversmiths, Benjamin Caldwell, Jr., pg. 167) Provenance: Collection of Grace Tankersley, Knoxville, TN. Condition: Overall good condition with two spoons with small tears in bowls and one with small dent.
