East Tennessee lead glazed earthenware pottery jar with open loop rolled handles and sine wave incising around the upper shoulder, unusual speckled glaze. Attributed to Sullivan Co., Tennessee or Southwest Virginia. 11 1/2" H x 8" dia. Mid 19th century. Provenance: Estate of Elsie Weed, Kingsport, TN. Condition: One pulled handle missing, chips around rim and base edge, some exfoliation of glaze around midsection, small hairline at base that does not extend into sides.
