1st and 2nd items: Meissen porcelain custard cup with cover and saucer. Each piece is decorated with a central harbor scene vignette flanked by Asian figures and framed by gilt borders, with pink harbor scenes to edges of saucer and cover of cup. The cover is surmounted by a blue floral finial. Both pieces are accented with gilt decoration throughout and bear the Meissen underglaze blue crossed swords mark on the undersides. Cup: 3 1/2 in. H. Saucer: 5 1/4 in. dia. 19th century. 3rd and 4th items: Royal Vienna porcelain cup and saucer. The cup is decorated with a vignette scene depicting a nun embracing a man, set against a lustre ground and accented with heavy foliate gilt decoration and a gilt interior. The matching saucer features a lustre ground with conforming foliate gilt decoration. Blue “Beehive” Royal Vienna mark to the undersides of both pieces. Cup: 3 5/8 in. H. Saucer: 5 1/4 in. dia. Late 19th century.
CONDITION: 1st & 2nd items: Old break to finial of lid; scattered wear to gilt decoration on both pieces. Both pieces with strike-through marks on the Meissen mark, indicating 2nd quality pieces. 3rd & 4th items: Rim of cup with old restoration; otherwise, both pieces are in overall good condition.
