Set of five (5) late Sheraton tiger maple chairs, one (1) armchair and four (4) side chairs, attributed to Knox County, Tennessee. All with curved back splats, balloon shaped rush seats, turned front legs, curved back legs, curved front stretcher and turned back stretchers. Armchair with curved sloping arms. Circa 1835-1840. Provenance: Ex-Richard Doughty, Greeneville, TN collection. CONDITION: One side chair with losses to wood on front and side of seat, wood wrap to back of seat possibly replaced. Armchair with old repairs to upper arms. All with overall general use wear, some natural age cracks to wood.
