Lot 1234: Two O/C Paintings by Janine Wesselmann, Interiors and Gossip

Two (2) oil on canvas paintings by Janine Wesselmann (New York/American – b. 1947), titled “Gossip” and “Interiors,” each depicting a European-style social scene in Wesselmann’s impressionistic style. “Gossip” details a standing woman in a blue dress sharing apparently surprising news, as other guests react. Sight: 13 1/4 in. W x 10 1/4 in. H. Framed: 19 1/2 in. W x 16 1/4 in. H. “Interiors” shows a seated woman with a notebook, contemplating, while her guest and a café patron observe. Sight: 23 1/4 in. W x 27 1/4 in. H. Framed: 30 in. W x 36 in. H.  Both in gilt frames. Late 20th century.

PROVENANCE: Estate of Donna C. Rogers, Greeneville, TN.

CONDITION: Overall excellent condition, with some scratches to the frames.
