North or South Carolina Piedmont yellow pine corner cupboard in the original painted blue surface, one piece construction. Cove cornice with carved rope top edge, upper two doors with two inset panels each over lower paneled doors, ogee moldings to returns and base, bracket feet with returns. Top section interior with three shelves having scratch beaded edges, center shelf having a plate ledge. Lower interior with one shelf. Interior retains much of the original brown paint. 88"H x 47 1/2"W. Circa 1820. Provenance – Lexington, Kentucky area collection. Condition: Wear areas of blue paint commensurate with age, right cornice return replaced, front bracket facing of left foot replaced (blocking and left foot facing original), later hinges, hinges on upper doors moved, minor scattered insect damage.
