Asian carved ivory Okimono, finely carved figures of a boy and father or grandfather on a log, delightedly watching three frogs. Signed on base with Chinese or Japanese mark. 2-1/2"H x 6-1/2"L. Provenance: purchased by George Mitchell (co-owner of Mitchell's Candy Store, Nashville) during the course of several trips to China and Japan in the late 19th-early 20th century. Mitchell estate. Condition: Age split to father's right arm and log, overall very good condition.
