Item 3: Honore Daumier (French, 1808-1879) Married Life portfolio with twenty-four loose lithographs depicting scenes from a marriage and eight-page booklet with text and lithographic frontispiece. PROVENANCE: Private Tennessee collection, by descent from the collection of Betty and Norman Luboff, whose exhibited collection of Picasso Madoura ceramics is also being offered in this auction.
CONDITION: 1st item in overall very good condition, with marginal foxing to print backings, not to prints themselves. With separation to cover binding plus soiling, creasing, and tears to front and back cover papers, boards intact. 2nd item with tonings to sheets, especially edges, along with edge losses. Cover with losses and wear including tears, especially to spine. 3rd item with toning and marginal staining to sheets, outside of images. Faint toning to lower edge of booklet cover. Portfolio cover is missing.
