24 French flatware items, including a cased 4-piece sterling silver carving and salad serving set, stamped with hallmark for sterling and partially legible maker's mark, possibly B&C; 10 J. Nore green shagreen handled pieces, stamped with maker's mark and MADE IN FRANCE (5 forks, 5 knives); and a cased set of 10 Gabriel Cay & Cie. horn handled knives, stamped with maker's mark and GRENOBLE. Ranging in size from 7 1/4" L to 12 3/4" L. Late 19th/early 20th century.
PROVENANCE: The estate of Judge John Nixon, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Sterling pieces with minor scattered use wear and discoloration to well and tines of salad serving set. Shagreen pieces with scattered minor age cracks to handles. Horn-handled pieces with minor scattered oxidation to blades and minute scattered age cracks to handles.
