Item 1: Marc Chagall (French/Russian, 1887-1985) exhibition poster for the artist’s June-July 1964 exhibition at Galerie Maeght, Paris. Ref.: Sorlier Posters 46. Housed under plexiglass in a black metallic frame. Sight: 27 1/4″ H x 21″ W. Framed: 28′ H x 21 3/4″ W. Items 2-3: Two (2) Pierre Tal-Coat (French, 1905-1985) AKA Pierre Louis Corentin exhibition posters created for Galerie Maeght, Paris, 1965 & 1972. Both housed under plexiglass in black metallic frames. Sights: 25 1/2″ H x 13 3/8″ W and 31″ H x 13 1/4″ W. Frames: 26″ H x 19″ W and 31 1/2″ H x 14″ W.
PROVENANCE: Deaccessioned by the Hunter Museum of American Art.
CONDITION: Item 1: With creases throughout, largest 3 1/2″ L to upper center edge, plus waviness and buckling. Items 2-3: Poster in red and black with waviness and minor, scattered creases, largest 1″ L. Poster in green and black with 11 1/2″ L crease to lower right corner plus minor, scattered creases throughout. Not examined outside of frames.
