Color lithograph after Rene Magritte's (French, 1898-1967) 1967 Surrealist oil on canvas painting La Page Blanche (The White Page), in the collection of the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium, Brussels, 2003. A full moon hangs in a blue night sky and before an arrangement of leaves, with a nocturnal cityscape or neighborhood beneath. Signed in the plate and countersigned in pencil, lower left, by Charles Herscovici, President of the Magritte Foundation, Chairman of the Magritte Museum, and unique representative of the Magritte Succession. Numbered 258/300, lower left, and with blindstamps of the Magritte Foundation & ADAGP (Society of Authors in the Graphic and Plastic Arts). Floated under plexiglass in a giltwood frame. Sheet: 23" H x 29 3/4" W. Frame: 28" H x 34 1/4" W. Note: The original painting, completed in 1967, is among Magritte's final works.
CONDITION: Excellent condition. Not examined outside to frame. Frame with 3/4" x 1/4" area of white paint to lower left corner.
