Two (2) Danish School oil on canvas still life paintings by Einar Gross and Mogens Vantore. 1st item: Einar Gross (Denmark, 1895-1962) oil on canvas still life depicting a group of potted flowers on a table, with an abstracted linear perspective and background. Signed and dated "Gross '20" lower right. Housed in a giltwood frame. Sight: 18 1/2" H x 13 7/8" W. Framed: 21" H x 16 1/2" W. 2nd item: Mogens Vantore (Denmark/France, 1895-1977) post-impressionistic still life painting depicting a vase of pink flowers on a table with a pitcher, an orange, and a lemon against a black background. Signed "Vantore" lower left. Unframed, secured to a stretcher. 27" H x 31" W.
PROVENANCE: The estate of Dr. Thomas Bechtel, Memphis, Tennessee.
CONDITION: 1st item: Overall good condition with light craquelure and losses to paint, largest area 1/4". Some losses of gilt and wear to frame. 2nd item: Overall good condition with minor abrasions, few areas of fraying to edges of canvas.
