Two (2) Danish School oil on canvas landscape paintings, including Ludvig Jacobsen and Knud Jespersen. 1st item: Ludvig Jacobsen (Denmark, 1890-1957) painting depicting a stand of trees casting shadows on the foreground, with a forest in the background. Signed "Ludvig Jacobsen" lower right. Housed in a wide, molded giltwood frame. Sight: 18" H x 15" W. Framed: 23" H x 20" W. 2nd item: Knud Jespersen (Denmark, 1879-1954) Fauvist oil on canvas landscape painting with gestural trees and foliage in earthen colors beneath a cloudy sky with a pink break of light at the horizon. Signed and dated lower left, "1930(?)". Housed in a molded giltwood frame. Sight: 15" H x 13 1/2" W. Framed: 20" H x 18 3/8" W.
PROVENANCE: The estate of Dr. Thomas Bechtel, Memphis, Tennessee.
CONDITION: 1st item: Craquelure, mostly to upper half of canvas; area of thin paint under right corner; scattered surface grime. Frame has several small scattered losses. 2nd item: Overall very good condition. Frame with some scattered losses to gilt, largest measuring 3/8" H x 1/4" W.
