Ludvig Jacobsen (Denmark, 1890-1957) oil on canvas still life painting depicting a vase of large white flowers, rendered in an impasto technique, in an interior setting. Signed and dated "Ludvig Jaconsen 23" lower right. Housed in a giltwood frame. Sight: 21 1/4" H x 16 1/2" W. Framed: 27 1/4" H x 22 1/2" W.
PROVENANCE: The estate of Dr. Thomas Bechtel, Memphis, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Overall very good condition with minute paint flake/loss, lower left. Light craquelure to areas of impasto. Slight buckling to canvas, top right corner. Frame with scattered areas of loss to gilt areas of natural age shrinkage, largest 3 1/4".
