Attributed to Jean Georges (France, b. 1890) oil on canvas marine painting depicting a manned rowboat in tumultuous waters attempting to reach a ship, a second ship visible in the left background. Signed "Georges" lower right. Priore Art Gallery, Ltd., Flushing, NY ink stamp en verso. Housed in a giltwood frame with carved laurel leaf and scrolling foliate molding. Sight: 7 5/8" H x 13 3/4" W. Framed: 14" H x 20" W.
PROVENANCE: Collection of a Nashville Physician.
CONDITION: Overall good condition with light craquelure. Canvas has been lined, new canvas is visible across top and bottom of old canvas to front of frame. Frame with minor areas of loss to gilt.
