Lot 1173: 2 Antique Turkmen Chuval Weavings, Tekke & Yomud

Two (2) antique Turkmen Chuval weavings, both wool on wool, including a Tekke Chuval with nine guls to the center and a plain lower elem panel, and a Yomud Chuval with thirty-five guls to the center and a floral lower elem panel. Both woven in red, blue, and cream colors. 3 ft. 11 in. x 2 ft. 8 in.
 and 4 ft. 1 in. x 2 ft.9 in.  Both weavings late 19th century.

Private Des Moines, Iowa collection.

CONDITION:

Tekke chuval with a repair to the top, overall even wear, and some fringe loss. Yomud Chuval is in overall good condition, with losses to the fringe
