Massachusetts chest of drawers, broad serpentine or oxbow shaped top overhanging four conforming drawers atop ball and claw feet. Cherry or maple primary wood, white pine secondary. Round brass bail pulls and oval escutcheons. 35"H x 47 1/2" W x 23"D. American, Last quarter 18th century. Provenance: Collection of James and Marlin Phythyon (Sanders), Nashville, Tennessee. Condition: Refinished, faded surface; drawer stops and runners replaced, some pulls with slightly misshapen handles. Side shrinkage.
