Josef Mansfeld (Austria, 1819-1894) oil on panel still life painting depicting various objects, including porcelain tea service items, a stein resting on a book, a bottle of wine and a glass, a pewter tankard, a dish with fruit, a spoon, and a newspaper, all on an elaborately embroidered tablecloth in an interior setting with paintings and red drapery in the background. Signed and dated "Josef Mansfeld 1889" top right. Typed label with German text, en verso. Housed in an ebonized wooden frame with a carved scrolling foliate giltwood fillet. Sight: 12" H x 10" W. Framed: 18 1/4" H x 16 1/4" W.
CONDITION: Overall good condition with scattered areas of paint loss, largest 1". Frame with areas of loss, largest 2", with some inpainting to areas of loss.
