Lot 1159: Pair Bronze Bas Relief Plaques, Christ & Madonna

Pair of bronze bas relief portrait plaques depicting Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary, each unsigned, fitted into substantial oak frames. Plaques, each: 16" H x 12" W, frames: 21" H X 18" W. Late 19th to early 20th century with possibly later framing.

PROVENANCE: Private Southeast Tennessee collection.

CONDITION: Virgin Mary plaque: overall very good condition with a few small light scratches to head covering. Christ plaque in good condition with some scratching to hair, and at lower center (with loss to patination) and left side center; a few small spots of oxidation.
