Two (2) Henri Douzil (French, 1837-1891) oil on canvas pendant portraits depicting the artist's mother and father, c. 1873. Unsigned. With 1981 Midland Center for the Arts, Midland, Michigan, exhibition label affixed to backing. Housed in giltwood frames. Both canvases: 7" H x 5" W. Both frames: 9 1/4" H x 7 1/8" W. Exhibition history: Henri Douzil: Provencal Painter 1837-1891, Midland Center for the Arts, Midland, MI, 1981 and Krasl Art Center, St. Joseph, MI, 1982. CONDITION: Overall very good condition, with craquelure throughout. Painting of the artist's mother with some paint loss to edges, especially upper right corner, 1" x 1/2". No loss to figures.
