Large silver plated meat dome with an associated platter or warming stand and plate. Lobed oval form cover with a naturalistic foliate handle, an engraved unicorn armorial crest to one side, unattributed hallmark to underside. The warming stand with naturalistic handles, scrolled feet, and a deep well. Underside of base stamped with a hallmark and ITC attrib. Walker, Knowles & Co., London. The interior removable plate with “star cross star” hallmarks and pictorial hallmarks for Barbour Silver Company. 13 in. H (total H) x 24 1/2 in. L x 13 1/2 in. W. 19th century.
PROVENANCE: Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts Foundation.
CONDITION: Overall good condition with scattered surface scratches and a small dent to one side of the dome and scattered pitting to the dome.
