Herrmann Glandenbeck (German/Berlin 1827 – 1918), bronze sculpture titled Lo Spinario or Boy with Thorn, after the Greco-Roman Hellenistic original, depicting a young boy seated on a patinated rocky crag, removing a thorn from his foot. Inscribed “Aktien-Gesellsch: H. Gladenbeck & Sohn, Friedrichshagen” on the lower crag, mounted on a bronze rectangular base. 12 1/2 in. H x 9 1/2 in. L x 5 in. W. Late 19th/Early 20th century.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of George Bradley, Lewisburg, TN.
CONDITION: Some minor abrasions noted on the right and upper shoulder areas. Label residue to the lower edge of the base.
