5 small antique objets de vertu including 1 Sterling silver oblong snuff box with engraved dog and eel or snake decoration, hallmarked for Samuel Pemberton, Birmingham, 1806-1807;1 pique tortoiseshell oblong coin purse with silver and gilt inlaid geometric decoration; 1 tortoiseshell navette shaped needle case or toothpick box with inlaid dot decoration and navette shaped silver monogram reserve (not monogrammed); 1 rectangular burlwood card case or snuff box; and 1 card case with diamond shaped mother of pearl and abalone decoration having an engraved silver inset central reserve. Sizes range from 2 7/8"w x 3/4"D to 4"W x 3"D. All items 19th century.
PROVENANCE: Private Nashville, TN Collection.
CONDITION: Some wear and scratching to all items, overall very good condition. 4 rectangular pieces of mother of pearl are missing from the hinge side of the card case (1 retained) and there are a few tiny losses to some triangular pieces. Inlaid tortoise box has persistent sales sticker residue to bottom. A few small losses to side of navette shaped box.
