Oil on canvas still life painting depicting a brass bucket and copper kettle on a red fabric ground. Unsigned. Housed in a parcel gilt and ebonized frame. Sight: 15 1/2" H x 23 1/2" W. Framed: 21 1/2" H x 30" W. Probably Continental, 19th century.
PROVENANCE: The collection of Alex and Cristina Ionescu, South Carolina, by descent from his father, the artist, conservator, and collector Vlaicu Ionescu of New York (1922-2001).
CONDITION: Painting with small flake loss lower left margin, four old patch repairs en verso. Frame with minor scattered abrasions.
