Two (2) German enamel landscape scenes, enameled on slightly convex metal panels, one depicting the Catholic Chapel Tellskapelle in Switzerland and the other depicting the Round Tower in Andernach, Germany. Both are titled along the lower edge and housed in matching carved wood and parcel gilt frames. Old Sotheby's labels en verso. Sight: 18" H x 7 3/4" W. Framed: 29 1/4" H x 19" W. 19th century.
PROVENANCE: The collection of Alex and Cristina Ionescu, South Carolina, by descent from his father, the artist, conservator, and collector Vlaicu Ionescu of New York (1922-2001).
CONDITION: Both landscapes in overall very good condition with some discoloration to the sky area around the perimeter. Both frames have scattered minor wear, primarily to the corners.
