American oil on canvas landscape painting depicting trees in a forest with brightly colored foliage near a river, with faint mountains in the upper left background. Pencil signed and dated en verso on the stretcher "Helen? Stevenson, 1930". Unframed. Sight: 21 1/4" H x 17 1/8" W. Note: Attribution label en verso from Du Mouchelle's Auction House, Detroit, MI, where this work was previously sold in December 1990 and was attributed to Eustace Zieglar.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Carl Klein, Brentwood, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Overall good condition with some abrasion to the perimeter from previous frame. Two inpainted areas of repair in lower right quadrant. Area of paint loss near lower-left corner, approximately 2" long. Unframed.
