"The International Postage Stamp Album: Illustrated with 4000 Engravings" 19th Century edition, published by The Scott Stamp and Coin Company, Limited, New York, 1902. Hardbound with dark green cloth on spine. Approximately 1,695 stamps, including the World's Columbian Exposition, the Exposition Universelle, and Confederate States of America stamps. Five pages of color maps illustrating each continent with album pages arranged alphabetically by country and fifteen double-sided pages of Scott Stamp and Coin Company advertising and album instructions. Inscription reading "James Newman/323 Russell St/Nashville Tenn./Dec. 25,1907" with inscription below is different handwriting reading "To/Carlyle Potter Jr/May 13-1932" on front flyleaf. 12" H x 10" W x 1 1/2" D. Early 20th century. Provenance: the collection of the late James A. Newman (Nashville, TN, 1892-1964). CONDITION: Overall good condition with toning, tears, dampstaining, etc to be expected from age. Front and back boards partially separated from spine. Several stamps have become unmounted from pages.
