Edmond Francis Woods (Utah / California, 1905-1990) oil on board painting titled of cows in a pastoral landscape entitled "Peace & Quiet," with autumnal trees laden with leaves in hues of yellow, red, and orange in the background. Housed in a gilt wood frame with linen mat. Labeled en verso with artist's name and title. Board: 15 3/4" H x 19 3/4" W. Frame: 24 1/2" H x 28 1/2" W. Biographical Note: Edmond Woods was born in Ogden, Utah in 1905, eventually attending The University of Utah where he studied under renowned Utah painter LeConte Stewart. Moving to California in 1926, Woods eventually settled near San Diego in Chula Vista, where he painted California, Arizona, Utah, and Colorado landscapes, as well as portraits of Navajo children.
CONDITION: Painting in overall very good condition. Mat with toning and stains. Frame with abrasions.
