American school, likely Southern, 19th-century folk art oil on canvas portrait of a horse standing in a landscape setting. Unsigned. Found in East Tennessee. Victorian walnut molded frame with parcel gilt striped embellishment at sight edge. Sight: 23 1/2 in. W x 17 1/2 in. H. Frame: 28 in. W x 22 1/2 in. H. 

CONDITION:

Area of scratches to paint at upper right corner. Frame in overall good condition with scattered spots of wear, scratching, and a few small chips.
