Colt Model 1851 Navy revolver .36 caliber, serial number 172688 corresponds to manufacture year of 1863. On octagonal barrel, "Address Col. Sam Colt New York U.S. America" and cylinder with naval scene. Brass back strap and trigger guard, all visible serial numbers matching, loading lever unmarked. 7 1/2" barrel length. Provenance: Gatlinburg, TN collection. Condition: Even patina on metal with minor pitting to end of barrel, visible cylinder seam, 65% varnish on wooden stock.
