Bronze sculpture by Max Kruse (German, 1854 – 1942) titled “Nenikhkamen” (We Have Won) depicting the Greek messenger Pheidippides. Signed, titled, and numbered 15/391 together with an illegible foundry mark. Mounted onto a stepped wood base. Sculpture measures: 20 1/2 in. H x 4 5/8 in. W x 11 3/4 in. D. Overall: 21 1/2 in. H x 6 3/4 in. W x 13 7/8 in. D.

The estate of Lyman O. “Buzz” Heidtke, Nashville, TN.
CONDITION:
The object in the runner’s raised hand, a laurel branch, is missing; otherwise, the item is in overall good condition.
