Oil on canvas painting after Sir Edwin Henry Landseer’s (English, 1802-1873) c. 1834 painting “A Highland Breakfast,” in the collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum, London. Five dogs gather around a basin. Two feed while two others bare teeth at one another as a fifth dog watches. Two puppies nurse from one of the feeding dogs. Signed “Borofsky,” lower right. Housed in a giltwood frame. Sight: 19 1/4 in. H x 23 1/4 in. W. Frame: 27 3/4 in. H. x 31 1/2 in. W. 20th century.
