French oil on board impressionist beach scene painting titled “Plage de Deauville” depicting a couple dressed in period clothing, a woman shielding a child with a sun umbrella, and a small sailboat docked on a pier, under a partly cloudy sky. Signed “C. Sainte Beuve” on the lower right, and titled, in pencil, “Plage de Deauville” en verso. Housed in a gilt wood frame with a white linen liner. Canvas: 5 ½” H X 8 ¼” W. Frame: 11 ¼” H X 13 ½” W. Early 20th century.
