East Tennessee walnut chest of drawers, two drawers over three graduated drawers, all dovetailed with lipped molded edges, possibly Knox or Greene County. Elaborately shaped front apron and sides, paneled sides, resting on thinly rounded tapered feet. Wooden pulls, yellow pine secondary. Corners of drawer fronts with sunken square nails. 45 1/8" H x 41" W x 19 1/8" D. Circa 1825. Note – an early 20th century C.M. McClung & Co. Knoxville tag is retained in top drawer. Provenance: Betty Irene Yates estate, Greeneville, TN. Condition: Case with an older refinish, minor separations top edge, older replaced pulls, interior drawer supports/framework replaced.
