The dial features pierced gold hands and is mounted to a bronze plaque with elaborate floral and scroll designs, with a cross at top and cherub mask at the base, all affixed to a later velvet-covered base. The interior of the dial is signed and possibly dated Jn __Diot et Cie / Geneve 1777. Dial: 1 5/8 in. dia. Overall: 9 in. x 7 in. 18th century.
PROVENANCE: Private Chattanooga area collection.
CONDITION: Some light wear and oxidation to bronze. The enamel dial has surface crazing and is affixed to the plaque with a wire that is likely not original. Glass covering of face is detached but retained. Works not checked or guaranteed to be complete or functional.
