Pair of Neoclassical or Empire style gilt bronze urns, campana form, each with flaring rim, acanthus leaf accents, garland and mask decoration to the body, supported by four winged caryatids mounted on gilt bronze plinths with figural, satyr mask, and cabochon decorations. Unsigned. 10 5/8" H x 6 1/4" W x 6 1/4" D. Likely French, late 19th century.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Margaret Harold Roberts, Lookout Mountain, Georgia.
CONDITION: Both in overall good condition with some scattered oxidation/discoloration to patina and a few minute dents to interior. One with minute scattered losses, largest 1/8" x 1/8", and slight bending to one caryatid. One with small losses or tear to urn body, largest measuring 3/8" L, and one caryatid slightly loose.
